Sixty-six year old Debbie lived the majority of her life feeling fragmented and rejected. Constantly carrying those burdensome and worthless feelings around with her often resulted in her making poor life choices. Debbie did not try to make things better for herself because she felt she didn’t deserve it. Debbie eventually found herself at Niagara Life Centre where she worked regularly with a counsellor who gently guided her to see the true love God has for her. After 5 months, Debbie now has a strong sense of identity and feels at peace. She continues to fulfill God’s plans for her as she volunteers at multiple churches, takes better care of herself and keeps the words of Psalm 31 close to her heart.
Psalm 31:1-5
For the director of music. A psalm of David.1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
2 Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me.
3 Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.
