Niagara Life Centre Mourns the Passing of Long-Time Board Chair Ken Klassen

Niagara Life Centre (NLC) is deeply saddened to share the passing of our dear friend, board member, and long-serving Chair, Ken. Since joining the Board in 2011 and becoming Chair in 2013, Ken served faithfully for 15 years with humility, dedication, and unwavering faith—never missing a single board meeting. His impact on NLC has been profound. Ken will be remembered as a man of prayer. He sought God’s guidance in every decision, from leading the search for our current building to overseeing fundraising, leadership transitions, and organizational growth. He faithfully prayed for the board, staff, volunteers, and the future of the Centre. His leadership was instrumental in launching the “Not Just Bricks” campaign, which raised over $151,000 toward our current facility, and in guiding NLC through key transitions, including important structural changes during COVID-19. Ken also deeply loved the people of NLC. He cared for staff and board members with genuine kindness, regularly praying for them, encouraging them, and opening his home with his wife Anita for annual gatherings that strengthened our community.
He led with quiet strength—listening well, never pushing an agenda, and trusting God fully. Under his guidance, NLC navigated seasons of growth and change with stability
and purpose. We are profoundly grateful for Ken’s life, leadership, and legacy. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Anita, his family, and all who knew and loved him. Visitations will take place on Thursday, June 18 from 6–8 p.m. at Tallman Funeral Home in Vineland and Friday, June 19 from 10–11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake, immediately preceding the funeral service at 11 a.m. More details are available on Tallman Funeral Home’s website.
