Six Pillars of Sustainability
1. GOD
Actions:
- Dedicate NLC to God daily through staff devotions and group prayer
- Commit NLC governance to God through prayer and devotions at board meetings
- Ensure our Christian faith is maintained in all outreach and promotional materials
- Bring help, hope and healing to clients by using the teachings of Jesus Christ
- Pray regularly for success in all of NLC’s activity
- Regular devotions and prayer during NLC board meetings
2. BUILDING AND SUSTAINING DIVERSE CLIENT SERVICES
Actions:
- Extend service hours (evening counselling)
- Grow group counselling
- Train staff to provide additional services – mediation
- Secure funding/grants for additional service training
3. ATTRACTING AND RETAINING SUPPORT
Actions:
- Ongoing staff discussion
- Review, select and implement Brock University Student input
- Develop millennial support – communications plan (Communications Coordinator)
- Grow NLC Business Sponsorship Program Development – Create NLC Business Network
- Retain and grow donor support through dessert nights
- Develop and implement a legacy program
4. REBRANDING
Actions:
- Introduce gender neutral colour
- Gather input from staff, board and donors
- Introduce new colour through all promotional materials
5. RELOCATION
New visible location; build awareness(signage); better access for bussing clients
Actions:
- Create donor awareness of need(dessert nights, banquets, newsletters, church presentations)
- Scout out affordable site
- Raise additional funds if needed
6. LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES
Building team relationships; building funding through donor relationships and events
Actions:
- Staff and board social events – Ongoing
- Staff and board team building events
- Donor social events – banquets, dessert nights(board /donor/staff);
church presentations/networking; business networking - Individual connections – executive director/staff/board; board/staff; ongoing through staff/board retreats
