Counsellor BSW, RSW
As a child, Lynette became intrigued by social work through a series of books she had read. It wasn’t until several years post high school that she chose to pursue that childhood interest. She always had a strong desire to help others through empowerment, support and resources. She was especially drawn to how every person has their own unique story to tell.
Over the last ten years, Lynette has been involved in several areas of social work; from financial assistance to family services, medical social work and currently as a counsellor with the Young and Pregnant In Niagara Program (YPN). She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Niagara University and is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.
She considers herself beyond blessed to be part of the YPN program. As a counsellor she literally gets to break bread with those beautiful, strong, resilient girls on a weekly basis. Each session is a time to come together as a small community where the girls share their joys, struggles and questions regarding prenatal education. Alongside the Public Health Nurse, Lynette works with the girls to help think about the next steps of their story.
Lynette is married to her best friend and together they have four amazing, fiercely independent children. She enjoys spending time reading, being with her family, coffee dates with friends and has a love/hate relationship with Pilates. She is also actively involved within her church community.
